Members and friends of Leigh Art Trail have orgainised some exciting and fun social events for everyone to enjoy.Visit this page later in the year for details of our Auction and other social events.

FREE Children's Art Workshop
Artists will be sharing some of their skills and knowledge during a variety of fun and exciting workshops. All children welcome, and must be supervised by parent/adult at all times.
Church Garden at Leigh Road Baptist Church, Marguerite Drive. If raining workshops will be in the church hall.

Get Fired Up!
Raku is a Japanese open air ceramic process producing stunning visual effects. A group of potters interested in this method will be firing kilns and producing work, and there are opportunities for wider participation.

Chalk Street
Come all you pavement artists and use your artistic skills to create a temporary piece of work for the day, drawing inspiration from the Thames Estuary.

Gaudeamus Choir

Concert 'Italian Serenade' by Gaudeamus chamber choir, at Wesley Methodist Church, Elm Road.  A musical tour from the Renaissance splendours of Venice and Rome to the celebrated songs of Naples.  Admission free, with retiring collection in aid of Serving the Homeless.

Naturespacecreative
(Joanna Hartle and Sean Groth) will create a piece of site specific work  " GHOST" in the Leigh Library Gardens  at the start  of the Art Trail 2010. It will be created within the gardens as a response by the artists to the space through history emotion and memory and the process documented as part of the piece, in the form of a short film.

Light Installation
Steps behind St Clements Church
Clare Lyn will be doing a light installation on the steps behind St Clements Church
Tuesday 15th June, 8.30pm onwards


Sketching Old Leigh with Sheila Appleton.
Meet Sheila at 10am on Wednesday 16th June at Old Leigh Studios for a quick look around, then over to the sea wall near the Peter Boat pub (weather permitting) for sketching Old Leigh. She will give advice and help.
Finish 12.30. Free.

Public Mosaic Project
Join British mosaic artist Paul Siggins at Switch, 57 Broadway and help him produce a lasting, public mosaic.  Just turn up and place some pieces or simply come along and watch.  Make yourself part of this year's Art Trail whilst enjoying a new and rewarding experience.

Mural Painting
Artist John Bulley is probably best known for painting the iconic Camden Lock Bridge. John will be painting outside Gran Moda, Rectory Grove during the week and is happy to engage with all visitors as they pass.
